Rants

I haven't ranted in a while. Here are some hidden things about Hopscotch Mix:

Z.X.Z -NIGHTMARE VERSION- was intended to be a gag song. It also uses a lot of swears (Fuck, fuck, fuck, you fuckin' psycho). There are also scattered phone messages from...my phone. One is my friend Zak asking me if I want to go bowling.

!(Z)x(Z)! of course uses a Godzilla sound effect and some computer generated speak from the scrapped Trip MAchine Avail song.

Z.X.3 has a strange middle, where a German disco version of "Singing in the Rain" plays.

Wasteland has a recorded PBS documentary on Guy Pierce ("had feared so long"). Also a static filled tampon commercial.

More to come.

Composing songs, step charts, graphics, programming, and web design/updates are hard...and very time consuming. C'mon! Cut me some slack.

Hidden song? There is a hidden song somewhere in the Hopscotch Mix 3.0 theme...a song that was intended for Excel, but was later dropped due to quality.

Did you Know...? Hopscotch Mix 1 (50 songs) was originally finished Febuary 25, 2005? Hopscotch Mix 2 (50 Songs) was originally finished October 21, 2005; and Excel (60? songs) was finished August 8, 2006. The theme was first started in 2004, and went through so many changes.....but it was never a high priority. Always a little side project. Also, we have passed our 2 year anniversary! (Sept.2004 - Sept. 2006) Thanks for the wonderful times, HSM!

If you downloaded TSUHSUIXAMUSH from StepMix 2, and you were wondering about the background; yes, "EUCK!" was edited from the popular swear "FUCK!". That's, like, a clever way to see where people downloaded the song, don't you think?

Question asked: Will there be a Hopscotch Mix 4?

Well, the HS team is keeping a tight lid on that one. So far, no details on a fourth mix: but there is talk on a small Hopscotch Mix 3.5. I'll post the details when more information is available.

TSUPSEUDOGAMUSH is actually a remix of the Hopscotch Mix 1 song Tsutsugamush (and TSUHSUIXAMUSH is a remix of TSUPSEUDOGAMUSH). The name Tsutsugamush came from the Japanese/Indian/Australian disease Tsutsugamushi that I misspelled when making the background. Instead of fixing it, I went with it. Later on in the song making quest, I started working on Hopscotch Mix 3 Excel and wanted to make a crazy-ass tough song. I made a Tsutsugamush remix that was originally going to be called Tsutsugamush (Impossible Remix) due to the very fast ending. Later, it would be changed to:

TSUPSEUDOGAMUSH (TSU) as in the first song: (PSEUDO) as in the definition:not genuine but having the appearance of: and then (GAMUSH): again, from the first song. The pseudo portion represents the fake arrows/bombs in the steps: or what you see isn't always true in this song.

I then started making steps, and added in the negative BPM trick as a joke (I learned from Monotune Survivor). And off I went on an all night "let's-blow-some-minds-and-make-people-angry" step bender. It seriously took like two days of free time to make all the steps for that song, and sure enough I got a ton of feedback (positive and negative, but mostly confusing). Due to the popularity of that song, I finished a work-in-progress earlier August called TSUHSUIXAMUSH. (Prenounced SU-SHOE-ZA-MUSH ...or if you're lazy, the TSUPSEUDOGAMUSH Remix). This word was entirely made up, and contained bits of syllabic sounds from it's predecessors. Anyway, this song was meant to be more tame and melodic than it's brothers. I gave it a good "LOM" or "Energizer" sound, but with strange breakbeats and intrusions (and I eliminated the super-fast ending 0_o). All in all, I like the sound and the steps for this one and hope you do too: because there might be another remix of this song in the future....mayhaps?
